On October 7, as part of the Hamptons International Film Festival, musician Paul Simon took part in “A Conversation With …” at East Hampton Middle School. Rolling Stone film editor David Fear led the conversation in front of a standing room only crowd.

During a career spanning seven decades, Simon has produced an unparalleled body of work, including masterpieces such as “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Sounds of Silence” and “Graceland.” Simon has received 16 Grammy Awards and has been twice inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Simon, a Montauk resident, is the subject of “In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon,” a new documentary by Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney which was screened at the festival on October 6.
