Peter Marino Art Foundation (PMAF) in Southampton Village is currently showing an exhibition of 10 works by Anselm Kiefer, two dozen sculptures by Melvin Edwards and, in the upstairs rotating gallery, more than 30 works by French glass artist Jean-Michel Othoniel and Flemish sculptor Johan Creten.

As part of SouthamptonFest 2022, on Saturday, October 1, the foundation will be offering guided tours at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. These ticketed tours cost $20 per person and can be reserved in advance at petermarinoartfoundation.org.

This weekend as part of Southampton Fest, PMAF is also offering general admission from noon to 4 p.m. with special “Art & Design Walk” pricing of $10 per person, payable at the door. Reservations are not required. Admission is free for students ages 10 to 22 and a “PMAF Scavenger Hunt” activity will also be offered for students who wish to participate at their own pace. A curator’s welcome and foundation introduction will be offered every 30 minutes.

Peter Marino Art Foundation exhibits more than 150 artworks from The Peter Marino Collection including paintings, sculpture, drawings, photography and ceramics from 3500 BC to the present day. Curated by Peter Marino, the exhibition shows a variety of mediums from a collection that Marino has been developing for more than 40 years.

PMAF has brought new life to the former Rogers Memorial Library, which is located at 11 Jobs Lane in Southampton, transforming the late 19th century landmarked building into a distinctive space for viewing contemporary and modern art and furniture, Old Master paintings, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman antiquities, Renaissance and Baroque Bronzes, 20th century photography, French ceramics, rare books and Old Master drawings.

Peter Marino purchased the building in 2018 and took nearly three years restoring the historic façade and redesigning the interior spaces. More than 8,000 square feet of exhibition spaces are spread over two levels of the converted building.

Peter Marino Art Foundation opened to the public in June 2021 and is a private foundation. The opening of the foundation touches on Marino’s cross disciplinary practice. One of the first architects to understand the possibilities for the changing landscape of art patronage, Marino is known for integrating art within his architectural designs and has commissioned more than 300 site-specific, original works of art from prominent contemporary artists. His personal collection has exhibited in London (Wallace Museum, Gagosian Davies Street), Miami (Bass Museum of Art), Paris (La Biennale), Tokyo and Kyoto (Chanel Nexus Hall, Kyotographie International Photography Festival), and Southampton, New York (Southampton Arts Center).

Timed-entry tickets for Peter Marino Art Foundation are available for tours on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through October. Visit petermarinoartfoundation.org for details. For more about Peter Marino’s architectural work and his exhibition design work, visit petermarinoarchitect.com.
