The White Room Gallery will present its latest exhibition, “Red Carpet,” from July 16 through August 17, with an opening reception scheduled for Saturday, July 19, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Featured artist Nelson De La Nuez, often referred to as the “King of Pop Art” — a title bestowed by Michael Jackson — will headline the show with vibrant, witty mixed media works. Additional artists include renowned celebrity photographer Markus Klinko, the photography duo The Guys With the Same Name, emerging abstract artist Pascal Guetta, glass artist Simon Waranch, and the late iconic photographer Terry O’Neill.

“The red carpet has rolled out for the latest and greatest since its inception in ancient Greece where it was a pathway for the gods,” said gallery owners and directors Andrea McCafferty and Kat O’Neill. “After a brief stint with luxury trains in the 19th century, it found its way to Hollywood in 1922 and soon realized it was home. Red is passion, love and a signal to stop or make that right turn while you still have time.”

The curators described “Red Carpet” as “a tour de force” showcasing a diverse range of talent and media, from stylized celebrity portraiture to evocative photography, textural abstracts, and uniquely crafted glass pieces.

A portion of proceeds from the exhibition will benefit Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue. The White Room Gallery is at 3 Railroad Avenue, East Hampton. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For information, visit thewhiteroom.gallery or call 917-526-2767.
