Artist-printmaker and arts educator Susan Bachemin will lead the final Insight Sunday of the year at The Church on Sunday, December 14, at noon. The session will focus on her 2024 work, “Red Migraine,” part of the current exhibition “Here & There: The First Churchennial.”
Bachemin will discuss her inspirations and creative process, followed by a Q&A and an invitation for visitors to explore the open studio with The Church’s 2025 Community Artists-in-Residence on the ground floor.
Bachemin’s work spans multiple disciplines, including film, music, commercial work and wallpaper design, informing the unique monotype prints she produces. Her work often reflects on health concerns in marginalized communities, and she currently serves as Printmaker-in-Residence at The Church, where she leads workshops and advocates for art access.
The artist holds a BFA in printmaking from Carnegie Mellon University and has exhibited at venues including Ronald Feldman and Ridge Street galleries. Her commissions have been featured in publications such as World of Interiors, NYT Styles and New York Behind Closed Doors.
Exhibition hours for Bachemin’s work are Thursday through Monday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for the talk are $10 (members free) at thechurchsagharbor.org. The Church is located at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor.
