Philip Walters sailed his boat August Sky to a victory in the Antigua and Barbuda Hamptons Challenge on Saturday, August 11, besting 23 other boats to win a grand prize billed as the largest of its kind on the East Coast. Walters, whose corrected time of 1 hour, 38 minutes and 32 seconds was just 11 seconds better than the second-place finishers, Greg and Jennifer Ames aboard Big Boat, will travel to Antigua Sailing Week next year for an all-expenses paid trip along with a crew of five of other sailors.

George Martin captained Osprey to a third-place finish with a corrected time of 1:39:43. Boats traveled from yacht clubs near and far for the event, which was run by the Peconic Bay Sailing Association.

Pictured are Walters with his winning crew, the crowd at the Breakwater Yacht Club at an after-party for the event and Sag Harbor Village Mayor Kathleen Mulcahy with the Honorable Charles Henry Fernandez, the Minister of Tourism and Economic Development for Antigua and Barbuda, and Colin C. James and Dean Fenton of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.
