The Riverhead Blues and Music Festival, which has expanded across genres to include rock, zydeco and jazz, will be held in Riverhead on two stages along the Peconic River behind Main Street and in the music hall on Peconic Avenue, on Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19.
The two-day festival is being presented by the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall.
Featured artists will include Savoy Brown, Rage and Beyond, Rosie Ledet and the Zydeco Playboys and Little Toby Walker.
Other acts will include Doug “Harmonica” McLean, Pat Hunter, MSB featuring Chrissie O’Dell, Bruce MacDonald, T-Bone and Franny Mae, Lil Cliff and the Cliffhangers, Blue Wild Angel, Who Are Those Guys, The Jim Moran Band, Bobby Nathan and Misspent Youth, among others.
Additional festivities are set to include a carnival, food vendors and an arts and crafts fair. Fireworks will cap off the weekend after the final band performs on Sunday evening.
The festival will run Saturday, July 18, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. One-day admission is $10 and a two-day bracelet is $15. Children under 12 will be admitted for free.
All proceeds will benefit the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall, a non-profit arts organization presenting music and cultural events in the historic 1881 Opera House in downtown Riverhead.
