Scottish Director Puts Donald Trump In The Hot Seat, Again

On September 28 at 5:06 p.m., Scotland-based filmmaker Anthony Baxter received a rather abrupt tweet from the Twitter account of one of the most infamous business magnates in America.

“I will be releasing the full interview with a guy named Baxter @antbaxter only to show the bias and stupidity of him and @BBCWorld,” Donald Trump sent out to his 2.7 million followers. “Clowns!”

His reaction was to Mr. Baxter’s film “The Dangerous Game,” a follow-up to his documentary “You’ve Been Trumped,” which screened at the Hamptons International Film Festival in 2011. In his newest installment—which will premiere Friday as part of this year’s HIFF—the director is still tracking Mr. Trump’s every move as he sets out to build another luxury golf course along the Scottish seaside.

And after four years, Mr. Baxter finally has his opportunity to confront the billionaire—inside Trump Tower in Manhattan—during the climax of the film, which also stars Robert Kennedy Jr. and Alec Baldwin.

While Mr. Trump has threatened to release the full interview, Mr. Baxter says he welcomes it.

“It is important for film audiences to make up their own minds about our journalistic integrity,” Mr. Baxter said in a statement. “And we would also like to invite Mr. Trump to the film’s premiere and defend his environmental record in the Q&A [after the screening at the Hamptons International Film Festival].”

Until then, perhaps.

“The Dangerous Game” will make its U.S. premiere on Friday, October 10, at 1:45 p.m. at Regal East Hampton Cinema and Saturday, October 11, at 4:15 p.m. at Sag Harbor Cinema. Tickets are $15. For more information, visit hamptonsfilmfest.org.
