Coming up at The Watermill Center on Saturday, September 17, at 5:30 p.m. will be an exhibition tour of “Christopher Knowles / STAND,” a comprehensive exhibition of the artist’s work covering a broad range of his artistic career from the 1970s through today. The show includes drawings, typings, paintings, sculpture and sound work. This exhibition is the result of an in-depth two-year examination of Knowles’s vast archive that revealed many new associations, bodies of works, and approaches providing a unique and highly comprehensive insight into Knowles’s artistic oeuvre. Highlights include groups of work that have never been exhibited publicly — including 1970s typings and paintings — as well as new paintings and sculpture.

On Sunday, September 18, a sensory-friendly tour, which is designed to increase access to TWC through accommodations made for neurodiverse visitors, will be offered at 11 a.m. Natural lighting is used whenever possible, while ambient sound is kept to a minimum. Materials will be made available prior to guests’ arrival to give attendees time to review and plan their visit. Tours of The Watermill Center offer a unique chance to see how the 10-plus acre campus acts as a source of inspiration for year-round artists-in-residence as they push the boundaries of creative practice.

On Friday, September 23, at 5:30 p.m., TWC offers “In Process @ The Watermill Center” with Marie De Testa, Joyce Ho, Ugemdi Ude and For Freedoms. This series of studio visits invite the community to gain insight into the creative process of TWC’s international artists-in-residence, cultivating an understanding of how artists from across the globe develop new work.

Finally, on Saturday, September 24, at noon, TWC offers an “Artists’ Table Brunch” with artist-in-residence Joyce Ho and Chef Colin Ambrose. The event begins with an intimate presentation by Ho, followed by a farm-to-table meal created by Chef Colin Ambrose on TWC’s scenic campus.

For tickets to these events, visit watermillcenter.org. The Watermill Center is at 39 Watermill Towd Road, Water Mill.
