On Saturday, June 30, at 4 p.m., there will be a grand reopening party and ribbon cutting at the Shelter Island Public Library.
The party will be held in celebration of the newly completed lower level, which will feature a brand new community room, book sale room, outdoor reading patio, indoor reading room and a new elevator, plus a new audio-visual set up, new lighting, plumbing, flooring and more.
Supervisor Jim Dougherty, Senator Ken LaValle, Legislator Edward P. Romaine and Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. are set to attend. The festivities will include words of thanks, tours and light refreshments.
