LTV Studios and the East End Underground Live Concert Series will present Simon Kirke/Joe Delia and Friends on Friday, August 9, at 8 p.m. Kirke, founding member of the legendary rock groups Free and Bad Company, is teaming up with internationally-acclaimed pianist and film composer Joe Delia for an unforgettable night of music

Kirke and Delia will be joined by saxophone great Lawrence Feldman and top-tier East End musicians Klyph Black (guitar), Greg McMullen (pedal steel guitar), Doug Broder (bass) and Anthony Genovesi (percussion).

This singular performance will feature Kirke’s greatest hits from the Bad Company and Free catalogs to Delia’s originals, mixed in with well-chosen covers ranging from Henry Mancini to Burl Ives.

When Kirke was a member of Free, the band had two classic hits “All Right Now” and “Wishing Well” and Bad Company sold in excess of 50 million albums. He co-wrote “Bad Company” with Paul Rodgers for which he received an ASCAP award. He has also released three solo albums: “Seven Rays of Hope,” “Filling the Void” and “All Because of You.” A sober guy now, he serves on the board of two organizations that help teens and adolescents with addiction — Road Recovery and Right Turn. He lives with his wife, Maria, in Manhattan and Montauk.

Delia is an internationally-acclaimed pianist and film composer with 40-plus feature film scores to his credit. He is best known locally for his “stacked keyboard” playing with the Nancy Atlas Project and for his own East End anthems — “Fire in My Belly” and “Under the Montauk Moon.”

Delia started his music career in his early teens signing to RCA Records and to management with Sid Bernstein. After that, as a studio musician and as piano player, arranger, and touring musician, he worked with various artists, including Pat Benatar, Dusty Springfield, Stanley Turrentine, Freddie Hubbard, Phoebe Snow, Dave Edmunds, Kim Larsen, Bruce Springsteen, and Keith Richards. He collaborated with former New York Dolls frontman David Johansen for six years as musical director for the Buster Poindexter show, which yielded the world-wide hit song “Hot, Hot, Hot.”

Well known for his collaboration with director Abel Ferrara, composing film scores for most of Ferrara’s films including, among others, “Ms 45”, “King of New York” and “The Bad Lieutenant.” The most recent of that collaboration is “Padre Pio” starring Shia LaBeouf, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and won Delia Best original score at the Sienna Film Festival in 2022.

Delia and his wife, PJ, live in Montauk with their two cats. He is also an active member of the local recovery community and plays the Hammond B3 every Sunday at the Calvary Baptist Church in East Hampton.

Tickets are $40 in advance, $45 at the door and VIP Café Seating is available for $65. For more information, and to purchase tickets, visit ltveh.org. LTV Studios is at 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott.
