Bay Street Theater will offer a “sneak peek” preview film screening of “Nora,” a film written, directed by and starring Anna Campbell, on Sunday, October 20. Doors open at 2 p.m. with the screening at 2:30 p.m. followed by a Talk Back and panel discussion.

“Nora,” which is Campbell’s first feature film, follows an artist as she gives up her dreams to focus on her child — but her dreams don’t give up on her. A music-laden film with an entirely original score, the film is a thought piece, a celebration of creativity and a timely discussion of the pressures of modern motherhood.

In the making of this movie, Campbell examined her own relationship with motherhood and her desire to make something of herself — and found that these two ideals could, in fact, live happily together. Motherhood can be a lonely endeavor, and the vision for this sneak peek screening is to bring together an audience in meaningful conversation in Sag Harbor. In addition to Anna Campbell, the film co-stars Leslie Ann Warren, Nick Fink, Kate Miner and Sophie Mara Baaden.

The panel discussion following the screening will explore the precarious balance of finding one’s path. It will be moderated by WLIW-FM’s Gianna Volpe, host of the morning radio show “Heart of the East End” and will include filmmaker Anna Campbell, Angela LaGreca, a four-time Emmy-winning producer, writer and comedian/host/entertainer, Kate Mueth founder and artistic director of Neo-Political Cowgirls, as well as a writer, choreographer, actor and teacher, and other local artists and community members.
