authorJon Winkler on Jun 16, 2016

Those with a passion for Solarplate etchings have a chance to let their work be known.

The first International Juried Photographic Solarplate Exhibition is accepting submissions for display at the Alex Ferrone Gallery in Cutchogue. Master printmaker Dan Welden will judge the exhibition, and the deadline to submit is Friday, July 8.

The Solarplate exhibition will run from October 1 through November 13. Those participating are eligible to win a private two-day printmaking residency with Mr. Welden in his Sag Harbor studio, along with artistic materials.

Mr. Welden is also a painter, author, educator and developer of the Solarplate printing technique. His work has been shown in more than 80 international solo exhibitions and more than 700 group exhibitions in museums and galleries all over the world. His work can also be found in public and private collections throughout the country including the Amity Art Foundation, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the Portland Museum of Art. Partial sales proceeds of artworks will benefit the Inspiration Plus Foundation, which supports art education programs. For guidelines to apply, visit to callforentry.org.
