For the second year, a group of East End singer-songwriters are coming together for a series of performances at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse in Bridgehampton to benefit local non-profits. Throughout this winter and spring, six performers will give a concert at the meetinghouse, sharing music and stories, paired with a wine and cheese reception. The first concert will kick off on Friday, February 5 at 8 p.m. with acoustic rock artist Inda Eaton.
Ms. Eaton has earned nationwide critical acclaim for her innovative songwriting-often compared to a fusion of John Mellencamp and Melissa Etheridge. She is currently in the studio and on stage working on new material for her upcoming album following her critically acclaimed, “Go West.” Ms. Eaton and her band have opened for names such as Hootie and the Blowfish, LeAnn Rimes, Smashmouth, Chicago and John Hiatt. When not on stage, Ms. Eaton is working with students in her music education program, “Ideas to Inspire.”
The February 5 concert will benefit Project MOST in East Hampton, a non-profit organization committed to building on the strengths of our children by providing students with a range of academic support, enrichment activities, and a positive social environment everyday... after school.
The series will continue with Caroline Doctorow playing for the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center on March 4; Gene Casey will be play for Community Action of Southold Town on April 1; Nancy Remkus and Mariann Megna will be playing for Maureen’s Haven on May 6 and Fred Raimondo will be playing for The Retreat on June 5.
The concerts are hosted by and take place at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse on the Sag Harbor/Bridgehampton Turnpike. Admission is $15.
