South Fork Performing Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center (SCC) is presenting two productions in December.

The first, on December 6 and 7, is “Disney’s Frozen Jr.” with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production. The show features 17 students who hail from Springs to Hampton Bays in first through seventh grades. Performances are at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 6, and at 3 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 7.

The second show is “Freaky Friday: a New Musical” featuring a book by Bridget Carpenter and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey. It will be presented by 11 South Fork Performing Arts students from Springs to Greenport. Performances are Friday, December 20, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 21, at 2 and 7 p.m.

Both shows at SCC use black box theater styles and techniques to showcase the talents of the student actors and allow the audience to use its imagination to enter the world of the play. Actors learn play and song analysis, tech theater skills, and receive acting and vocal coaching from experienced and qualified educators.

Tickets for both can be purchased through the Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane, Southampton, at scc-arts.org.
