Southampton Arts Center Celebrates 9th Annual SummerFest Gala

authorStaff Writer on Jun 3, 2024

Southampton Arts Center presents its 9th annual SummerFest Gala on Saturday, August 17, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton, to benefit their mission to develop community building through the arts. The event will honor Peter and Jamee Gregory with the Champion of the Arts Award in recognition of their leadership in the Southampton community and their dedication to SAC. The gala will be co-chaired by Audrey and Martin Gruss, Karen and Richard LeFrak, Simone and David Levinson and Hilary and Wilbur Ross.

The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception featuring a quartet from The Mannes School of Music and spotlighting tastings from a selection of East End restaurants and shops including Amalfi, Bamboo, Clamman, El Verano, Golden Pear, Hampton Events and Gifts, Hamptons Catered Affairs, Party Perfectionists, Saaz and Shippys. This will be followed by a seated dinner catered by Aqualina and dancing with a DJ from the Untouchables with a surprise live performance.

This year’s SummerFest takes place during “Couples Squared,” the groundbreaking exhibition, which will be guest curated by Phyllis Tuchman and on view from July 27th through September 14th. The exhibition will focus on couples past and present including husbands and wives and partners, who inspire one another. All of the couples presented in this exhibition were brought together by art and chose to join their domestic and family life with their creative output and profession. Examining the influences within these partnerships, differing arrangements can be seen, from deliberately collaborative to unexpectedly subconscious.

The proceeds of this event allow SAC to provide four world-class exhibitions and 150 programs annually. Yearly, SAC welcomes over 45,000 visitors who enjoy film, music, dance, theater, children’s events, talks, wellness programs and workshops.

SummerFest Tables may be purchased at $25,000 and $10,000. Individual tickets are $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000. Contact Diana Torres at 631-283-0967 or email events@southamptoncenter.org.

General admission tickets can be purchased online at southamptonartscenter.org.
