Stages, a Children’s Theatre Workshop, Inc., is kicking off its 21st Anniversary Season with its Spring Performance Workshop for actors ages 8 to 18. The workshop will be held at Southampton Town Recreation Center, 1370A Majors Path in Southampton, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, March 9 and running through May 15. The nine-week workshop will culminate with a full-scale musical production at Bay Street Theater, May 13 through May 15. “Little Shop of Horrors,” “The Little Mermaid,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Cinderella,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” and “Anything Goes” are productions under consideration with Helene Leonard directing. The cost of the workshop is $475.
Stages will also host a Studio Workshop for children ages 9 to 12 on Thursdays, March 10 through April 14, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor taught by Stages alum Tamara Froebel Salkin. That workshop is $250 for a six week class. For younger actors, mature 6 to 10 year olds, Stages will have a Creative Drama Workshop, which will meet Tuesdays, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., also at Bay Street Theater. The seven-week class, led by Helene Leonard, will culminate with a performance of a short play on April 12. The cost is $275.
