The Suffolk welcomes back Start Making Sense & Ocean Avenue Stompers Horns for an evening of the music of Talking Heads, David Byrne and more on Friday, April 25, at 8 p.m.

If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this seven-to 10-piece Talking Heads tribute take pride in faithfully recreating the music of Talking Heads’ entire career alongside David Byrne solo material and more surprises. Together, they bring much of the Heads unique live show to the stage, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne, giving audiences a “once in a lifetime” experience. The show also boasts a full horn section featuring The Ocean Ave Stompers Horns — a NOLA influenced brass band with the sounds of Jersey Shore Rock ’n’ Roll, Philly Soul and New York City’s finest.

Complete with an unprecedented nod from Bernie Worrell himself, Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame member and keyboardist for Talking Heads and Parliament/Funkadelic, “To all you listeners … This is an appropriate title — Start Making Sense. This band makes plenty of sense to me, and is a great representation of Talking Heads’ music. So listen up and go check them out.”

Tickets are $35 to $59 at thesuffolk.org. The Suffolk is at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead.
