‘Steel Magnolias’ With OFVS

authorStaff Writer on Jan 15, 2023

Our Fabulous Variety Show’s (OFVS) new theater opportunity — The Staged Series — is a creative venture that provides adult actors opportunities to pitch and participate in shows for readings. The Staged Series will kick off 2023 at LTV Studios in Wainscott on Saturday, January 28, at 6 p.m. with a staged reading of “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling.

This full-length play, based on the playwright’s own life experiences, is a comedy-drama set in a beauty salon in Louisiana in the early 1980s and features an all-female cast. The women spend their time in the beauty salon gossiping, joking and comforting each other through life’s hurdles. The cast includes Anita Boyer, Kasia Klimiuk, Krissy Feleppa, Ellora DeCarlo, Rachel Feldman and Nicky Seitz, under the direction of Joe Pallister. The reading is a free will donation, with a suggested donation of $20, but all are welcome. LTV Studios is at 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott. The Staged Series is open to all adult actors in the community and will continue throughout the winter season.
