Student Body, a band featuring Gian Carlo Feleppa on guitar and vocals, Kevin Foran on drums and singer Jen "Frosty" Hoopes, will perform at the next Wamponamon Masonic Music Series in Sag Harbor on Friday, February 7, at 8 p.m.
The following night, Saturday, February 8, at 8 p.m., Hot Club of Montauk will take the stage at the Masonic Temple. The band includes vocalist Carolina Kohn, guitarists Paul Hamilton and Jack Marshall, bass player Benjamin Goodale, and violinist Evgenia Zilberberg. The group plays gypsy, jazz and roots music inspired by the legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France, which was founded in Paris in 1934 and led by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappeplay. That group remained active in one form or another until 1948 and today, there are Hot Clubs around the world.
Hot Club of Montauk plays a variety of standards and modern tunes with a gypsy twist.
