Vito Schnabel Gallery in St. Moritz, Switzerland and Tripoli Gallery in Wainscott announce “Sunday,” a group exhibition featuring works by Trey Abdella, Katherine Bernhardt, Katherine Bradford, Francesco Clemente, Mary Heilmann, Rashid Johnson, Christoph Matthes, Lola Montes, Robert Nava, Julian Schnabel and Lucy Winton.

“Sunday” explores themes of rest, reflection, and stepping away from the chaos of everyday life. The exhibition opens Friday, July 18, with concurrent presentations at Vito Schnabel Gallery in St. Moritz and Tripoli Gallery in Wainscott.

Katherine Bradford’s vibrant seascapes, “Swimmers in Surf,” (2024) and “Purple Boat,” (2024) depict faceless figures floating through colorful waterscapes — symbols of leisure, memory, and emotional depth. Julian Schnabel’s “Piz Murtirol,” (2025), a triangular landscape painting of a mountain in the Engadine, is a meditation on nature’s beauty and how we perceive the world around us.

Trey Abdella’s mixed-media work “Sunday” portrays a distressed woman’s face overlaid on a snow-covered church scene, reflecting the day’s spiritual associations. Robert Nava’s “Zombie Star Angel” (2025) draws on theological and mythological themes, exploring the complex symbolism of angels in Abrahamic religions and ancient traditions.

“Sunday” will be on view at Vito Schnabel Gallery in St. Moritz from July 18 through August 30, and at Tripoli Gallery in Wainscott from July 18 through August 18.

An opening reception will be held at Vito Schnabel Gallery in St. Moritz, Switzerland, on Friday, July 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. A second reception will take place at Tripoli Gallery, 26 Ardsley Road, Wainscott, on Sunday, July 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.
