As part of the 3rd annual Ha Ha Hamptons Comedy Tour, Long Island comedian Paul Anthony will bring The 50+ Comedy Tour to Bay Street Theater on Saturday, October 26, at 8 p.m.

“We’re really excited to finally bring this incredible, iconic show to the Hamptons before any of the comedians on the show get any older!” quipped Anthony. “This show features, highlights and truly celebrates the incredible comedians we work with. For this special show, in addition to all of the comics being hilarious, the one thing they all have in common is that they’re all over the age of 50. They are polished, have incredible performance credits and are at the top of their game.”

We can’t wait to bring this show to Bay Street Theater.”

The 50+ Comedy Tour came about 10 years ago when Anthony was in the green room at a show he was producing, talking with some of the other comedians. The conversation was about how many of the older comics were not getting hired by the comedy clubs because they were being pushed out by younger comedians.

“That’s when we came up with the idea of a show that only featured older comedians on the line-ups, and The 50+ Comedy Tour was born,” Anthony said. “At the end of the day we’re out to make audiences laugh, forget about their worries for just a little while, and feel good about themselves. And that’s what keeps us motivated. It’s an incredible feeling to meet audience members after a performance and have them tell us how great they feel after laughing so hard. It is extremely rewarding and we are very grateful to be able to keep doing this.”

This show will feature comedians Peter Bales, John Ziegler, Maria Walsh and Eric Haft. Tickets are $37 to $47 at baystreet.org. Bay Street Theater is on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.
