The Gardiner Mill Cottage Gallery Museum in East Hampton opens a new exhibition, “Rodman Pell (1909-1995) Historic Folk-Lore Artist of Long Island,” on Friday, May 20.

Pell descended from a family who founded Pelham, New York. For about 30 years, he had an art studio in Greenport where he established a reputation as an important historic folklore artist and became recognized as the Grandpa Moses of Greenport.

The exhibition runs through Monday, June 6. Gardiner Mill Cottage Gallery will be hosting a “Spring Open House” on Saturday, May 28, from 1 to 5 p.m. Food and beverages will be served and the public is welcome to attend. The Gardiner Mill Cottage Gallery is located at 36 James Lane, East Hampton.
