In addition to the highly anticipated return of The Met: Live in HD on October 5, this fall Guild Hall will once again present selections from the National Theater Live (NTL). The 2024 season will feature the best of British theater and three performances of some of NTL’s most popular broadcasts, “Hamlet,” “Prima Facie” and “Present Laughter.”

The NTL series at Guild Hall begins with “Hamlet” on Thursday, October 24, at 7 p.m., starring Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, filmed live at the Barbican. With epic, lavish staging and costumes, “Hamlet” was the National Theater Live’s bestselling broadcast as of 2017 and has now been seen by over 800,000 people worldwide. In addition to Cumberbatch, the cast includes Ciarán Hinds, Sian Brooke, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Anastasia Hille and Jim Norton.

On Friday, November 15, at 7 p.m., Suzie Miller’s gripping one-woman play, “Prima Facie” will be screened, featuring a Tony Award-winning performance by Jodie Comer, best known for her role in “Killing Eve.” The play was entirely sold out during its nine-week run in the West End at the Harold Pinter Theater before moving to Broadway in 2023 and proved hugely popular with audiences during its NTL original release in 2022.

The 2024 series will conclude on Friday, December 20, at 7 p.m. with “Present Laughter,” the multi award-winning production of Noël Coward’s provocative comedy featuring Andrew Scott of “Fleabag” and “All of Us Strangers.” Filmed live from The Old Vic in London during a sold out run in 2019, Matthew Warchus directs this giddy and surprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire and loneliness.

Tickets for each screening are $20 ($18 members) and may be purchased at guildhall.org. Louise & Howie’s Coffee Bar will be open before and during the program for refreshments, which are permitted in the theater. Guild Hall is at 158 Main Street in East Hampton.
