The Jam Session will have its last Thursday night jazz jam at Bay Burger on September 27, before the burger joint on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike closes its doors for good in October.
In light of Bay Burger’s closing, the Jam Session will move to Union Cantina on Bowden Square in Southampton Village, starting with a grand opening party concert on October 4, at 7 p.m. with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and no cover. The band will include Alex Sipiagin on trumpet, Oscar Feldman on saxophone, Steve Salerno on guitar, Bill O’Connell on piano, Essiet Essiet on bass, Rafael Cruz on percussion and Claes Brondal on drums and serving as emcee.
The Jam Session is a nonprofit organization founded by Mr. Brondal and Bay Burger owner John Landes and dedicated to presenting live jazz to the public. The jam took place at Bay Burger seasonally for nine years. The music is recorded for broadcast on Southampton public radio station WPPB 88.3 FM on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
