“Ben-Gurion, Epilogue” is a 70-minute documentary that brings to life the introspective soul searching of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion. Shot in1968, when Ben-Gurion was 82 years old and five years from death, the film reveals a surprising vision for today’s crucial decisions and the future of Israel.

On Thursday, August 1, at 7 p.m., Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor will host a screening of “Ben-Gurion, Epilogue” in conjunction with American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (AABGU). Doug Seserman, AABGU chief executive officer, will deliver the introduction and moderate the talkback following the screening.

The documentary was created using six hours of an interview soundtrack found in the depths of the Ben-Gurion Archives at Ben-Gurion University. It was the missing audio of film footage held by a filmmaker seeking to re-create the interview. The film was the winner of the Ophir Award (Israeli Oscars) for Best Documentary and Frank Scheck of the Hollywood Reporter wrote that it is “essential viewing for anyone interested in Israeli history.”

The screening is free and open to all and refreshments will be served. Reservations are recommended by emailing cpearlstein@aabgu.org or call (646) 452-3702. Temple Adas Israel is located at the corner of Elizabeth Street and Atlantic Avenue in Sag Harbor. For further information, visit templeadasisrael.org or call 631-725-0904.
