On Saturday, December 23, at 8 p.m., Suffolk Theater in Riverhead welcomes back The Lords of 52nd Street, the band that recorded Billy Joel’s classic songs, performing an evening of his greatest hits and “The Nylon Curtain” album front to back.
Made up of three legendary musicians — Liberty DeVitto, Russell Javors and Richie Cannata — who recorded on Billy Joel’s classic albums, The Lords of 52nd Street is the most authentic Billy Joel show around.
These are the very same guys you hear on Billy Joel’s classic albums “Turnstiles,” “The Stranger,” “52nd Street” and “Glass Houses” as well as #1 singles like “Only the Good Die Young,” “Just the Way You Are” and countless others. The Lords recorded and toured with Joel for over a decade, performing at some of the most famous venues around the world like Wembley Stadium, Royal Albert Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Nassau Coliseum, Madison Square Garden, and more.
Now they continue to perform the legendary hits that helped establish Billy Joel’s formidable sound exactly as they were recorded.
Tickets for The Lords of 52nd Street are $49 to $59 at thesuffolk.org. Suffolk Theater is at 118 East Main Street, Riverhead.
