The Met Opera’s Live in HD returns to Guild Hall for the 2024-2025 season, with eight performances transmitted live from the Met Stage to Guild Hall’s newly renovated theater. Guests can now enjoy The Met: Live in HD performances in more comfortable seating surrounded by state-of-the-art technology for a truly immersive experience.

This season includes three new productions: the Met premiere of “Grounded” by Tony Award–winning composer Jeanine Tesori; Verdi’s ‘Aida” directed by Michael Mayer and starring American soprano Angel Blue; and Strauss’s “Salome” led by South African soprano Elza van den Heever in the title role and directed by Claus Guth.

The series kicks off Saturday, October 5, with Offenbach’s fantastical opera “Les Contes d’Hoffmann.” Additional season highlights include the return of once-in-a-generation Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen in Puccini’s “Tosca” and Beethoven’s “Fidelio,” and rising Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina as Rosina in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.”

The Met: Live in HD series has made the Met the world’s leading provider of alternative cinema content and the only arts institution with an ongoing global series of this scale. When the series launched in 2006, the Met was the first arts company to experiment with alternative cinema content. Since then, the program has expanded, with more than 31 million tickets sold to date and robust attendance in five global cinema markets: the United States, Germany, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.
