The Westhampton Garden Club will host its biennial house and garden tour on Friday, July 13, featuring tours of five historic homes and gardens in Quogue, Westhampton and Remsenburg. Guests will also be able to visit a privately owned, newly restored historic landmark mill.

Homes featured on the tour this year include a modern Hamptons cottage with expansive back porches, an antique home with a secret garden and children’s playhouse, a renovated home, with several varieties of hydrangea, designed for large family entertaining, an estate featuring a glass stairway and views of the water, and a classic home surrounded by specimen grasses and overlooking a golf course. The club will also host a boutique at one site, as well as complimentary refreshments at the other homes.

“This year’s Westhampton Garden Club’s House and Garden Tour will surpass all our previous tours,” WGC President Joy Flynn said. “The properties range from historic to contemporary with exquisite interiors and gardens. Lunch at the Westhampton Country Club and shopping at the two boutiques will make for a delightful day with friends and family.”

The Westhampton Garden Club has been a part of the community since 1928. The nonprofit organization consists of volunteers who are dedicated to promoting horticulture, floral design, photography, and environmental conservation. Revenues raised from the house and garden tour are used to help maintain public gardens including the Village Green in Westhampton, the Gates Memorial Garden in Westhampton, the historical garden at the Quogue Library, and the newly planted native, drought-tolerant garden at the Lily Pond in Quogue, and contribute to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge pollinator garden. The Westhampton Garden Club also awards a scholarship to a local student seeking higher education in related fields and supports other educational initiatives

“Our 60 active members work some of the gardens themselves, and resources from fundraising events, like the tour, help to maintain the gardens, fund our scholarship, and fund educational programs and related club activities,” Ms. Flynn explained. “The Westhampton Garden Club has something for everyone; men and women who share our vision for a sustainable world are always welcome to join.”

The tour will take place Friday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at westhamptongardenclub.org or at Quogue Library, the Lily Pad in Quogue, Quogue Market and Lynne’s Cards and Gifts in Westhampton Beach. Tickets may also be purchased at the Quogue Library on the day of the tour. A luncheon at the Westhampton Country Club will be offered to ticket holders for $40.
