The Sag Harbor American Music Festival (SHAMF) returns with a lineup of completely free outdoor concerts all over Sag Harbor Village from Thursday, September 26, to Sunday, September 29.

This year, SHAMF is adding a kickoff collaboration with Mashashimuet Park and “September Sundays” at Baron’s Cove. SHAMF celebrates the scope of American music and explores how blending of musical cultures expanded folk, created jazz, developed soul, rock, hip hop, country and continues to evolve in popular music today. All these genres and more will be presented live by artists spanning the globe and the regional community.

From the giant sailcloth tent at Marine Park to the all-weather stage at Steinbeck Park and the fan favorite Alley Stage next to The American Hotel, dozens of acts will be featured over the course of the weekend. In addition, two ticketed evening concerts will be offered at Bay Street Theater as well as the signature restaurant night bursting with extraordinary, eclectic musical experiences for all.

Mashashimuet Park will host the kickoff from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday night with Escola de Samba Boom, the 30-piece percussion band famous for their beach drum circles. Additional venues include the Civil War Monument (Main & Madison), cultural icons, restaurants and more. The weekend will feature music by 40 bands/artists will be featured including Quartet San Francisco, R.O. Shapiro, Foster Europe, Aqua Cherry, Gene Casey & The Lonesharks, Sarah Gross, Friday Night Traditional, The Mind Empire, Inda Eaton, The Hoodoo Loungers and more. The complete festival line-up and “September Sundays” schedules will be released in the coming weeks.

On Friday, September 27, at 8 p.m., Teddy Thompson and his band take the stage at Bay Street Theater in a ticketed event. He will perform his country inflected originals and selections from his latest album, “My Love of Country.” The second ticketed Bay Street concert will be The Resilient on Saturday, September 28, at 8 p.m. Last seen on the main stage at Steinbeck Park in 2022 with legendary guitarist GE Smith, Nate, Tim, Greg, Dom and Erik form this uniquely American rock band. Formed in summer 2018 in a small town in Pennsylvania and composed primarily of severely wounded U.S. combat veterans, the music reflects their name with sincere lyricism, lulling melodies, hypnotizing beats and weaving harmonies which are explorative yet unforgiving.

The free music will be performed throughout Sag Harbor from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 29. For the latest updates and full schedule, sagharbormusic.org.
