The Montauk Artists’ Association presents “Together Again,” a group show at The Depot Art Gallery featuring three longtime local artists and best friends: Joel Casserly, Maura Donahue and E. Smyth McCarron. The exhibition runs September 25 through October 6. An opening reception will be held Saturday, September 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., with live music in the upstairs studio.

Joel Casserly, a former commercial fishing captain of the F/V Deliverance and F/V Restless, holds a master’s degree in art from Long Island University’s C.W. Post campus. Specializing in printing and printmaking, Casserly creates one-of-a-kind canvases using “found objects” with flat printable surfaces. He combines painterly techniques and pigments to transform these objects into striking works of art. He is excited to debut new pieces created this year.

Maura Ann Donahue has called Montauk home since 1981 after spending summers there as a child. A former longtime waitress at The Dock, Donahue discovered pottery through a newspaper ad and has pursued it passionately ever since. Her handmade ceramic works are highly sought-after and consistently sell out.

E. Smyth McCarron, a Montauk native and pastel and watercolor artist, draws inspiration from the natural world. She began her art education at Pratt Institute and recently completed her MFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Known for her serene landscapes, McCarron is also debuting bold, larger-scale pieces that carry a deeper message.

The exhibit takes place at The Depot Art Gallery, located at the Montauk railroad station at Flamingo Avenue and South Edgemere Street. Gallery hours are Thursdays through Mondays from noon to 5 p.m. More information is available at montaukartistsassociation.org.
