It’s not every day that a heavy-hitter of the art world sits down to talk about their business, but in the week ahead, the Parrish Art Museum will have not one, but three recognized figures in contemporary art take part in talks and book signings at the museum. They are artist Eric Fischl, author Michael Shnayerson, and artist David Salle.

On Sunday, July 28 11 a.m. and noon, Mr. Fischl will share his personal take on Fairfield Porter, whose paintings are currently featured in an entire gallery at the Parrish (please note, the 11 a.m. session is already sold out).

Next up, on Thursday, August 1, at 5 p.m., Mr. Shnayerson takes part in a conversation with museum director Terrie Sultan and signs copies of his new book “BOOM: Mad Money, Mega Dealers, and the Rise of Contemporary Art.”

Finally, Parrish collection artist David Salle will discuss the three monumental paintings in his “After Michelangelo” series, recently acquired by the museum, on Friday, August 2, at 6 p.m.

“I’m delighted to present three most influential voices from the art world who will speak from different perspectives about artmaking and the art market today,” said Corinne Erni, senior curator of ArtsReach and special projects for the Parrish.

We’re pretty delighted ourselves.

All programs are $12 for the general public (free for members, children and students with ID) and include museum admission. The Parrish Art Museum is at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. Visit parrishart.org or call 631-283-2118 for details.
