Much of art is meant to be a communal experience. But the COVID-19 pandemic has made gathering of any kind, including for performances, risky. Will it cast a pall over an East End arts scene that has always been part of its life blood? Or will it push the arts community into new, innovative ways to engage the audience?

The Express News Group on Thursday, June 4, held an Express Sessions panel discussion on the state of the East End arts community in the wake of the pandemic.

Panelists included: Andrea Grover: Executive Director, Guild Hall, Tracy Mitchell: Executive Director, Bay Street Theater, Kate Mueth: Founder/Artistic Director Neo Political Cowgirls, Tom Dunn: Executive Director Southampton Arts Center, Julienne Penza Boone: Executive Director Westhampton Performing Arts Center, Inda Eaton - Musician/Songwriter, Stephen Hamilton- Acting Director The Sag Harbor Cinema, and Chris Siefert - Interim Director The Parrish Art Museum.
