The Suffolk presents award-winning singer-songwriter Vonda Shepard on Thursday, November 20 at 8 p.m.
Shepard, who rose to prominence with her original music on the television show "Ally McBeal," has sold more than 12 million albums and won two Golden Globes, two Emmy Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also holds the Billboard prize for selling the most TV soundtracks in history. Shepard began performing professionally as a teenager and has toured extensively with artists including Al Jarreau and Jackson Browne.
Her career highlights include the hit duet "Can’t We Try" with Dan Hill and albums such as "The Radical Light," which included the original version of "Searchin’ My Soul," later featured as the theme song for "Ally McBeal." Shepard has also released critically acclaimed albums including "It’s Good, Eve," "By 7:30," "Chinatown," "From the Sun," "Solo" and "Rookie."
In addition to her recording career, Shepard made a theatrical debut in Randy Newman’s musical adaptation of "Faust," earning rave reviews for her performance including her duet of "Feels Like Home."
Shepard continues to write, record and tour with her accomplished band, delivering a mix of her classic hits and new material that blends the singer-songwriter craft of Elton John, Carole King, James Taylor and Jackson Browne with the soulful influence of Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan.
