From Friday, August 11, to Sunday, August 13, Gurujeet Khalsa and Teresa Lawler will be exhibiting their photography, glass and watercolor artwork at Ashawagh Hall to celebrate the local environment. The show, “Walking Dunes & East End Waters,” will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a reception on Saturday, August 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Gurujeet Khalsa is an award-winning photographer who uses the power of light to reveal and conceal, to show both barriers and possibilities, and to illuminate the mystery of the present moment. Featuring locations as diverse as Belize, Maine, and the Pacific Northwest in previous exhibits, Khalsa now turns his camera to the East End. He has been photographing the Walking Dunes in Napeague for over a decade fascinated by the forces of wind and water that reshape the dunes.
Artist Teresa Lawler was born and raised in Montauk, and she specializes in glass fusing and watercolor painting. Many of her works depict local vistas, playing with color, light and texture. As President of the Artists Alliance of East Hampton, she has participated in numerous exhibitions from Montauk to New York City and advocates for local artists to be recognized in their hometown.
Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road in East Hampton.
