Winterfest Live on the Vine, a music, wine and art festival designed to jazz up winter on the East End, returns for its ninth edition.
Presented by the Riverhead-based nonprofit East End Arts, Winterfest will run this year from February 18 through March 20 featuring 90 events spread among 30 venues, most of which are North Fork vineyards,
There will be a handful of events on the South Fork, beginning with a performance by trumpeter Mike Rubenstein at Bay Burger in Sag Harbor on Thursday, February 18, at 7 p.m. The weekly Thursday jam session at Bay Burger will continue with kora player Yacouba Sissoko on February 25, Afro Cuban Night with Oscar Feldman on March 3, tenor sax player Jim Campagnola on March 10 and trumpeter Alex Sipiagin on March 17. Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack will hold two Saturday wine tastings with winemaker Roman Roth. The tastings will begin at 2:30 p.m. on February 27 and March 12.
The Winterfest kick-off party takes place at Suffolk Theater in Riverhead with music by Miles to Dayton, Toby Walker and Andrew Fortier on Friday, February 19. Admission is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Judy Collins will have a St. Patrick’s Day concert there on Thursday, March 17, with tickets starting at $50.
Jefferson Starship will perform at Suffolk Theater on Saturday, March 19, with tickets starting at $45. For each Suffolk Theater concert, doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music begins at 8 p.m.
