The Peter Marino Art Foundation in Southampton Village presents a summer-long exhibition of more than 90 photographic works by German artist Wolfgang Tillmans, on view through September 27. Now in its fifth season, the Foundation also debuts two new installations: “Vienna 1900 Art & Decoration” and “Andy Warhol – 15 Minutes of Collecting.”
Designed by the artist, “Wolfgang Tillmans” features photographs and prints from Peter Marino’s personal collection spanning several decades of the artist’s work. The installation highlights Tillmans’s exploration of intimacy, perception and the poetic potential of photography. Known for pushing the boundaries of the medium, Tillmans integrates diverse genres, techniques and display strategies. He is the first non-Brit and photographer to win the Turner Prize and is currently the subject of a retrospective at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
“Vienna 1900 Art & Decoration” showcases Marino’s extensive collection of Wiener Werkstätte objects and works by key figures such as Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser, Leopold Bauer, Gustav Klimt and Franz von Stuck. The exhibit reflects the movement’s emphasis on uniting art, design and functionality.
In the Foundation’s Gold Gallery, “Andy Warhol – 15 Minutes of Collecting” features 30 works, including screenprints, drawings and photographs. The presentation highlights Warhol’s lasting influence on Marino, who was hired by the artist in the 1970s to renovate his Upper East Side townhouse and The Factory at 860 Broadway.
This summer, the Foundation’s public programming includes the return of “Brunch with Bob,” a live art talk series hosted by co-associate directors Bob Colacello and Isabelle Marino, alongside Peter Marino. Guests for the 2025 season include Ronald S. Lauder on August 16 and a “Tales From the Factory” panel with Jane Holzer and Vincent Fremont on August 27.
Also returning is the “Peter Marino Book Club,” a series of author talks and signings. Photographer Jonathan Becker kicked off the season June 14 with “Lost Time.” Upcoming guests include Bruce Weber on July 19 for “My Education,” Peter Halley and Kristian Vistrup Madsen on August 2 for a discussion of Wolfgang Tillmans, and Sarah Sze on Aug. 23 with her Phaidon monograph Sarah Sze.
Curated by architect Peter Marino, the Foundation features works from his private collection built over 40 years. Housed in a restored 19th-century building, the rotating display includes more than 200 pieces—ranging from ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary photography—across painting, sculpture, ceramics, furniture and design.
The Peter Marino Art Foundation is located at 11 Jobs Lane, Southampton, NY. In 2025, it is open to the public Thursdays through Saturdays for both guided tours and open admission. Visitors are encouraged to reserve in advance. For hours and ticket information, visit petermarinoartfoundation.org/visit.
