“WORD,” the popular series of spoken word and readings, returns to The Church on Saturday, April 13, at 6 p.m. with the program’s third iteration, “Spring Cleaning.” Featured writers include the Reverend Houston R. Cypress, Rachel DeLoache Williams and Adriana Devers.

Writers may opt to share a previous work that never left the pages of their journal or write a new work to cleanse themselves of a lingering idea that they’ve been eager to explore. Participating writers have been asked to reflect, declutter and invite ideas, stories and inspirations that may have been tucked away to resurface, releasing them into the universe at the start of a new season.

An open mic will follow the segment of curated writers. Audience members are encouraged to sign up for the open mic portion and read their own works or pieces from a beloved writer or friend. Please note that only three spots for the open mic will be available. Be sure to arrive early and leave your name on the sign-up list at check-in. Open mic participation is limited to three minutes when read.

Tickets are $15 for regular seating, $25 for café table seating, at thechurchsagharbor.org. The Church is at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor.
