The Sag Harbor American Music Festival is currently sponsoring a Young Musicians Initiative and inviting musicians ages 16 to 23 to submit their work for awards in vocal, instrumental (solo or group), band or composition/songwriting categories.
This outreach program is available to musicians in the five East End towns. At least one person in the group must reside in East Hampton, Riverhead, Shelter Island, Southampton or Southold. Musicians may apply in more than one category.
The winner of the top award for best overall performance will work with Grammy-winning producer Cynthia Daniels of Monk Music Studios to produce a recording of one song to be released as part of a promo EP. It will be distributed to radio stations, premiered on social media platforms.
Other winners will receive a professional video of a song produced by LTV Studios in East Hampton, cash award for professional development, mentorship with established musician, a featured mention on the music festival’s website and social media, and a paid performance at the 2021 Sag Harbor American Music Festival.
Submissions are due on or before June 15, 2021. There is a $5 application fee per category. Visit sagharbormusic.org for details.
