With heavy winds, coastal flood warnings, and Thursday’s heavy rain, Southampton Town declared a state of emergency on Friday, October 31. In a post on its website, the town noted that the National Weather Service has issued coastal flood warnings and high wind warnings for Suffolk County. Area Veterans Day Services Are Planned

MONTAUK The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation will hold its annual flag ceremony in honor of veterans on Tuesday, November 11, at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center, 240 Edgemere Street. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Suzanne Koch Gosman Flagpole Garden at the center and will feature the raising of the flag and a wreath-laying ceremony by local Scout troops.
