Marvin F. Bennett
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at Green River Cemetery in Springs for East Hampton native Marvin F. Bennett, who died on January 25 at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida. He was 79.
Born to Lily (née Wood) and Louis H. Bennett of East Hampton, Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Beth Bennett of East Hampton; two daughters, René Chapman of East Hampton and Cyri Loper of Maryland; a brother, Robert E. Bennett of Springs; two grandsons, Adam Chapman and Derek Chapman of East Hampton; and a granddaughter, Penney Johnson of Maryland. In addition, he is survived by three stepsons, Jerry Sheehan of East Hampton, Jed A. Sheehan of Virginia and Charles J. Sheehan Jr. of Oregon; nine great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Louis T. Bennett and Thomas S. Bennett, a sister, Ellen Miller, and his first wife, Cecil (née Miller) Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Springs Fire Department, 179 Fort Pond Boulevard, East Hampton, NY 11937 or American Legion Post 419, 15 Montauk Highway, East Hampton, NY 11937 would be appreciated by the family.
