After a few years of work, carpenter Robert Staab delivered a replica Beebe-McClellan surfboat to the Amagansett Life-Saving Station last fall. On Saturday, June 14, the Board of Trustees for the station held a christening ceremony. JACK MOTZ
Carpenter Robert Staab said crafting a replica Beebe-McClellan surfboat ultimately reminded him why he started working with his hands in the first place. The boat he built can be brought on the water. Staab cut and placed each piece of wood for the boat by hand. JACK MOTZ
