Lillian Stella Mathews
Amagansett native Lillian Stella Mathews of The Villages, Florida died on October 15. She was 80.
Born in Amagansett, she resided in East Hampton, Keller, Texas, and Pompano Beach, Florida, before moving to The Villages in 2004. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Villages Card Clubs and enjoyed playing cards, bunco, bingo and reading. She also loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Louis “Bud” Mathews of Florida; a son, Marc G. Mathews of East Hampton; two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Robert Perrong of New Jersey and LuAnn and Mark Montgomery of Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation was on October 23 at Yardley-Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton, where a prayer service was also held. Interment followed at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in East Hampton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Moffitt Cancer Center, c/o The Villages Health System Foundation, 1020 Lake Sumter Landing, The Villages, FL 32162 would be appreciated by the family.
