Scholar-Athletes

East Hampton had eight teams qualify as a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Team this past fall. In order to qualify as a team, 75 percent of its average GPA for the season must be equal to or greater than 90 percent. Those teams included boys/girls cross country, boys golf, field hockey, football, girls swimming, girls tennis and girls volleyball. Student-athletes can also earn Scholar-Athlete individual honors by earning an individual average of 90 or above, whether their team qualified or not. Although specific names were not released, 113 Bonackers earned the distinction.

The Express News Group does not make any postseason award selections. All awards are either earned by student-athletes at respective levels or voted on by state, county and division/league representatives. All school awards are selected by respective coaches and school officials.
