If someone were to run for School Board, you need a number of signatures on your petition equal to 2 percent of last year’s vote. That was only 192 people in Amagansett. Whether all are actually registered voters of the district is debatable. You would then need 3.84 percent of individuals. Let’s call it 4. Very low for the approximately 2,000 registered voters.
Which calls into question: Did we even make the alleged required 10 percent last year to have a legal election? Numbers would say 9.7 percent.
Last year, Robin Jahoda was the top School Board vote-getter with, oddly enough, only 120. Dawn Rana-Brophy only received 119. Why? Go back and check the propositions.
So, what of the other 72 voters?
You only get told what’s reported. A seemingly controlled narrative from the school district. I told the School Board last year, “I’m a documents guy,” but I know how to be by the numbers.
Still here.
