Catherine M. White
Catherine M. White of Amagansett died at her home on Saturday, December 17. She was 88.
Known as “Kip” to friends and family, Ms. White was born on October 23, 1923, in Manhattan to Richard A. White and Charlotte White (née Fitzgerald). She graduated from the College of New Rochelle and for many years worked as a secretary for Chubb insurance company in Manhattan. When she retired in the 1990s, she was the firm’s assistant treasurer.
Ms. White is survived by siblings, James White of Greenlawn, Frances Morey of East Hampton, Maryclare Rose of Florida and George White of South Carolina; and was “Aunt Kip” to 31 nieces and nephews, and numerous grandnieces and nephews.
Visitation took place on Tuesday, December 20, at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, December 21, at the Most Holy Trinity Church also in East Hampton.
