CMEE To Host Art Opening

The Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE) will host an art opening reception with CITYarts on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event celebrates CITYarts’ Pieces for Peace project, which invites young people from around the world to create art reflecting their vision of peace. To date, more than 12,000 artworks have been collected from 126 countries across six continents, and a selection will be on display at CMEE during the opening and throughout the fall exhibition. Area Veterans Day Services Are Planned

MONTAUK The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation will hold its annual flag ceremony in honor of veterans on Tuesday, November 11, at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center, 240 Edgemere Street. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Suzanne Koch Gosman Flagpole Garden at the center and will feature the raising of the flag and a wreath-laying ceremony by local Scout troops. State Parks To Offer Nature Hikes

The State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation has released its list of night owl hikes and seal observation hikes. For the owl hikes, a state park naturalist will guide visitors in the woods to listen for owls and other night life. The location of each hike may vary. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and comfortable shoes for hiking. Be prepared to hike without lights.
