A fund-raiser will be held on Saturday, April 19, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Wolfie's Tavern in Springs to help the family of former East Hampton resident David DJ" Souza-Moffett Jr. pay for the scattering of his ashes at his birthplace in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Mr. Souza-Moffett, who died on March 8 in Anchorage, Alaska at the age of 22, grew up East Hampton with his mother, Kahealani Souza, a Springs firefighter and emergency medical technician. Because she is a single parent with limited resources, Ms. Souza's friends and colleagues organized this event to help her pay for the trip to Hawaii. All are welcome to attend; those who cannot, may send donations to Kahealani Souza, P.O.Box 3064, East Hampton, N.Y. 11937, which would be appreciated by the family.
