Deborah Morgan of Quogue and Mt. Vernon, New York, died July 12 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, surrounded by her family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. “Mimi,” as she was called by her sons, was 61.

Born in Southampton Hospital to MaryJane and Nelson Cook Osborne Jr., she grew up in Westchester County, New York, and East Hampton. She graduated from East Hampton High School in 1967, Elmira College in Elmira, New York, in 1971, and began her career in market research at Columbia Records in 1972. She worked for many years at the firm C.S. McClellan Real Estate in Pelham, New York.

Mrs. Morgan started spending summers in Quogue in 1977 and quickly established her prowess as a superb athlete, competing in golf, tennis and croquet. She was also an accomplished bridge player. In Quogue, she was a member of the Quogue Field Club, the Quogue Beach Club and the Shinnecock Yacht Club.

She is survived by her husband, John Morgan, and sons Matthew, 25, and Tyler, 21. Also surviving are her mother, MaryJane Osborne, and two sisters, Stephanie Phillips and Jacqueline Osborne.

Visitation was on July 15 at the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach. A funeral mass was held on July 16 at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Quiogue. A reception followed at the Quogue Field Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bide-a-Wee, 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton, New York 11977 would be appreciated by the family.
