Destruction

DOGE — the department of global evisceration. Thank you to those who voted for Donald Trump, because now you’ve given us Elon Musk. Elon, with the help of his band of tech wunderkind, certainly seems to face challenges with empathy based on how he is slashing and burning anything in sight, not noticing how it affects people’s lives, or, for that matter, the law.

Most reasonable adults understand that effective, lasting change takes place when you clearly define what needs to change, establish a timeline for that change, and then define what the consequences of that lack of change would be.

This rational explanation can be applied to aware, well-intentioned adults. People whose intentions are constructive. Donald Trump is known for his destructive and chaotic behavior, so we shouldn’t be surprised that none of this pertains to him, or to his eviscerating, socially inept, buddy Elon.

All we can hope now is that our court system is able to hold back this tidal wave of destruction and lawlessness.

Every president has the right to make changes, and those changes will reflect their agenda. No one argues with that. But neither Trump nor Elon interpret their power with dignity or self-control — so may God (or the courts) help us now.
