Springs School As reported by the school’s Journalism Club. Fourth-graders performed their annual “opera” last week. The “70 is Heavenly Opera Company” wrote, starred in, and produced “A Dream for the Future,” which was about following your dreams and taking risks. In the opera, three kids dream about being a soccer star, a ballerina, and a writer and getting to meet their idols. Also, students celebrated Thanksgiving by writing what they’re thankful for and having Thanksgiving celebrations in their classrooms. Andrea Meyer Named Head of East Hampton Library’s Long Island Collection

East Hampton Library’s Executive Director, Dennis Fabiszak, has announced this week that Andrea Meyer has been named head of the library’s Long Island Collection and that Mayra Scanlon has joined the collection as a Librarian/Archivist.Ms. Meyer began working in the Long Island Collection in 2015. Her responsibilities include serving as the collection’s chief librarian and digital archivist, which entails updating and maintaining the collection’s Digital Long Island searchable online database (part of the New York Heritage Digital Collections), as well as scanning, processing new collections, assisting patrons with research, and managing the collection’s community outreach, events, and exhibits. Springs Church Launches Fundraising Drive To Fix Foundation And Steeple

The cornerstone for the Springs Community Presbyterian Church, originally just called the Springs Chapel, was laid on April 8, 1882, on the salt hay meadow that overlooks Accabonac Harbor on land donated by the Miller family. The small sanctuary stood by itself in a bare field. George Eldredge, a prominent East Hampton builder, constructed the building in less than a year and was paid $320, church records show.
